Echoing the free­form, boldly outlined shapes of modern yarn paintings, an ancient folk art long practised by the Huichol people of Mexico. Imagery and patterns within the complex designs were, traditionally, imbued with meaning; zig zagging motifs, for instance, suggested openness and communication with the spirits. Self­fringed rayon scarf. c. 180 x 70cm. Hand washing recommended.
